Obama and McCain win BIG
While McCain has a comfortable lead over Huckabee (942-245 delegates), the race between Obama and Clinton remains close.
Obama extends his winning-streak to ten in the primary season with wins in Wisconsin, and hometown Hawaii. Obama has not lost a single primary or caucus held since February 5 (Super Tuesday).
Clinton is in somewhat of a “must-win” situation for her next two primaries, being held in Texas and Ohio on March 4. There is a debate Thursday, February 21 in Austin, Texas where Clinton looks to break Obama’s momentum and reinvigorate her campaign. The last big state to hold a primary is Pennsylvania on April 22.
Obama continues to seek victories and has already began his campaigning in Houston. In a speech Tuesday night Obama said, “The change we seek is still months and miles away…I opposed this war in 2002. I will bring this war to an end in 2009. It is time to bring our troops home.”
What can we expect in the coming weeks from the Democratic and Republican campaigns? McCain feels assured of the Republican campaign and is concentrating on turning his primary into a general election candidacy. However, Huckabee has no intention of leaving the race. He says there are millions of Republicans across the country who haven’t voted yet, and he feels they should have a choice on who to vote for.
Will Clinton get her first win since Super Tuesday on March 4? Will she be able to stop Obama’s momentum? How will she hold up during the debate? What can we see from Obama’s campaign? Will he maintain his streak or will Clinton gain momentum?
Within two months everything will be determined and the Republican and Democratic nominees should be confirmed.
