George Carlin Dead at 71
The comedian unexpectedly died at a Santa Monica hospital Sunday night after suspected heart failure. Carlin was 71 years old.

Hutchens named OC Sheriff
Sandra Hutchens, former Los Angeles Sheriff Department Division Chief, is the new sheriff of Orange County.
Breaking two county records, the Orange County Board of Supervisors selected Hutchens early Tuesday afternoon in a 3-2 vote. Not only is she the county’s first female sheriff, she is also the first one not voted in during county elections.
