Wilmington Shoot Out
CNS- A gunman was hospitalized in critical condition today following an officer-involved shooting in Wilmington, just thirty yards from where police fatally wounded another man during a gunbattle some three hours earlier, authorities said.
No officers were hurt in either shooting, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The mother of a slain high school football star will return home from military duty to mourn her son.
Jamiel Shaw was shot and killed Sunday near his Arlington Heights home. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa was among the mourners Tuesday night at a candlelight vigil for the 17-year-old Los Angeles High School football star.
